The 5th grade played mightly against the Teachers in the annual Teachers vs. 5th Grade Volleyball Tournament.
5th Grade visited Caumsett State Park in Lloyd Harbor, Huntington where the students learned about maple sugaring, survival skills, orienteering skills using a compass and they explored the beautiful seashore of Long Island Sound.
In recognition of Asian New Year, students sorted objects using chopsticks and then graphed their results in two different ways.
The children in chorus, band and orchestra participated in the 2012 Winter Concert.
Old Country Road donated 398 pairs of shoes for the district's Soles 4 Souls shoe collection. The donated shoes were sent to children in Haiti.
The "Souper Bowl" at Old Country Road kicks off on January 30th! The Student Council will be holding a "Souper Bowl" food drive to benefit Island Harvest. After the winter holidays, many food pantries and soup kitchens run out of the food they need to feed the hungry. Our food drive will help supply the many organizations that Island Harvest helps throughout the year.
As part of World Kindness Day, second-grade students decorated Thanksgiving cards for the residents of the Meadowbrook Care Center in Freeport.
Students at Old Country Road enjoyed learning about the pictures found on animal skins.
