6th & 9th Grade Orientation

Just prior to the opening of the 2007 - 2008 school year in Hicksville Public Schools, sixth and ninth grade students and their parents participated in orientation sessions at both the middle and high schools. As the newest students in their buildings, the class of 2011 and 2014 received comprehensive information about the schools' programs, student activities, Guidance services, transportation, class schedules, and team and sports schedules. Students had an opportunity to tour their building, meet the Administrative and Guidance staffs at both of the secondary schools, and to have their questions answered on a wide variety of topics.

Pictured here are: Mr. Daniel Marquardt, Hicksville Middle School Principal, who welcomed red, white, and blue "team" parents and students to the Sixth Grade Orientation program; members of the new Ninth Grade, schedules in hand, who took the opportunity to tour the building after their welcome by Principal Brijinder Singh, and Class of 2011 students who, as part of activities designed to foster teamwork and coping strategies, took part in Project Adventure at the Nassau Boces environmental center in Brookville.
