Academic Enrichment Programs

Elementary academic enrichment is available to students at all levels through a variety of programs and activities. The district sponsors full-week, all-day workshops for the most academically talented elementary students. During the school year, students in grades three, four, and five attend workshops at Old Country Road School. In addition to these workshops, all elementary students have the opportunity for enrichment in the regular classroom. Students pursue areas of interest and advance at their own pace through individual and group studies. The results of these studies are displayed each spring at the annual Elementary Expo, which is open to the public.

Secondary level students have a range of opportunities through the Middle School Academic Enrichment Program and the High School Mentorship Program. In addition, the district participates in the Advanced Placement Program, giving students the opportunity to gain advanced college standing. Honors classes in all academic areas are available beginning in grade seven. Three Academic Enrichment Centers, available to high school students, are open to students wishing to pursue independent study in the areas of Math/Science, English/Social Studies, and Foreign Language. The centers are equipped with enrichment and resource materials, and computer and audiovisual technology.
