The instructional programs are designed to prepare students to live and work in a changing and growing world. Development and evaluation of the curriculum is an ongoing process to ensure that students are provided with a program that meets these needs and NYS Education Department standards. Performance objectives are established for each course, with enough flexibility to allow for individual growth and differentiated methods of instruction.
Educational goals and objectives set by the Board of Education serve as the framework upon which the program is built. These objectives include the development of academic and study skills, physical and intellectual development, scientific understanding, aesthetic expression, career development, and an awareness of the interaction between the individual and society. Hicksville Public School's programs provide for excellence in education in each curriculum area with opportunities for intervention and enrichment.
