Construction Update
Each year Hicksville Public Schools completes construction projects which continue the district's long-range plan of improving facilities. The annual school district budget allocates funds for both capital and maintenance projects to realize this goal. Capital and maintenance projects range in scope from roofing and exterior resurfacing to interior painting and floor refinishing. A detailed listing of specific capital and maintenance projects is itemized below.
Capital Improvement Program
The Capital Improvement Program was begun in July of 2007 and completed in the fall.

2002 Bond Referendum - 2008 Update
On June 19, 2002 the residents of the Hicksville School District approved a bond referendum for capital improvements to the district's facilities. The work has continued since that time and included a variety of upgrade, renovation, and modernization work. Hicksville Public Schools' eleven facilities have all undergone significant facilities upgrades including the following completed improvement projects:
High School Science Room renovations
District-wide Heating Plant replacement (24 Boilers)
District-wide Window replacement
District-wide Public Address System replacement
District-wide Fire Alarm System and Electrical upgrades
District-wide Roof replacement
High School and Middle School Local Area Network (LAN)
District-wide Plumbing upgrade & Piping replacement

The sweeping district improvements made possible by the 2002 bond referendum have improved the safety, security, energy efficiency, and appearance of our buildings while greatly enhancing the educational environment for all of our students, teachers and staff.
