The district program offers students hands-on experience with computers beginning in kindergarten and extending through high school. Every attempt is made to keep up with this ever-changing and exciting field. New equipment and
software at all levels of instruction are added regularly to prepare students for
the world in which we live. In intermediate grades, students are introduced to
word processing and Power Point programs for writing stories and
compositions, and for public presentations of research. In addition, the
computer is used in learning exercises and in the reinforcement of math,
language, and vocabulary skills. In the middle school grades, students further
advance skills in word processing and Power Point while learning spread sheet
applications and web design.
At the high school, advanced applications, programming and analysis skills
are emphasized. Fully equipped computer laboratories and enrichment centers
are available for student use. A digital photography program and video
production center add new dimensions to advanced computer instruction. The
Technology Education Department offers sequences in Residential Structures,
Engineering, and Communications.
