College Night Provides Insight for Students
The Hicksville High School Counseling Center recently sponsored its "6th Annual College Fair." The evening program, planned and facilitated by Efthymia Rafaelides, Chairperson of Guidance, and by the members of the guidance department, provided students and their families the opportunity to meet with representatives from more than 100 top colleges and universities, including Cornell University, Dartmouth College, New York University, Penn State, and more than a dozen of the most competitive SUNY schools.

"We are thrilled to see so many parents and students exploring the many exciting opportunities that are available to them through higher education," commented Ms. Rafaelides.

Hicksville High School students and their families packed into the gymnasium, which was set up with tables where each college offered an abundance of information to help students plan for their future. From courses of study to yearly costs and scholarship availability, the knowledgeable college representatives attending the event shared a wealth of information, covered all bases for students and parents, and provided valuable insight on the many important decisions students will be faced with as they complete their last year of high school.
