The Hicksville Board of Education will review budgetary areas as outlined in the calendar. These workshop meetings are designed to enable residents to better understand and participate in the budget development process. The 2008-09 Hicksville Public Schools Budget may also be discussed at regular Board of Education meetings. Community members are most welcome and encouraged to attend these open meetings.
Qualifications for Voting
A voter shall be entitled to vote at any school meeting for the election of school district trustees and school budget, and upon all other matters which may be brought before such a meeting, who is:
A citizen of the United States
A resident of the district for a period of thirty days preceding
the meeting at which he/she is to vote
Eighteen years of age or older
Currently registered with the school district or has voted in the
general election in the last four years
Absentee Ballots:
Applications for absentee ballots may be obtained at the office of the District Clerk, 200 Division Avenue, any school day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Completed applications must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter. All absentee ballots must be returned to the District office no later than 5 p.m. the day of the vote. Absentee ballots will be issued for those reasons stated in the Education Law, Section 2018-A.
