Hicksville, NY-December 2, 2004-Hicksville Public Schools is proud to announce the accomplishment of Ms. Beth Atkinson, teacher at Hicksville High School, on receiving two awards for her artwork that was currently displayed at the New York State Art Teachers Association Annual Juried Members Exhibit at the Rye Town Hilton. Her mixed media collage titled “Fall” won “Best in Show” and another piece of hers titled “A Significant Casualty” won the “People’s Choice Award”.

Not only is Ms. Atkinson a talented artist, but she is also a talented teacher who is respected by both her students and colleagues. Ms. Atkinson has been teaching art to Hicksville students for over 18 years and you can currently see the work of her current and former students on display at the Hicksville Public Library. Congratulations Ms. Atkinson!
