The Hicksville Public School District is proud to announce that the College Board recognized sixty-eight students from both the Class of 2009 and the current senior class for excelling in the Advanced Placement (AP) program provided by the district, as indicated by their AP exam scores. Thirty-two students were named AP Scholars, eighteen students were granted AP Scholar with Honor status, and eighteen more were recognized as AP Scholars with Distinction. In addition, Sowmya Sundaresh earned the highest possible honor granted by the College Board - that of AP National Scholar, which was granted to only 13,185 students in the nation for 2009.
