February is National Dental Month. East Street’s Kindergarten classes had a visit from Denise O’Rourke, a dental hygienist from Dr. Sharon Essner’s dental office.
The Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island visited our third graders on Friday, February 10th.

Each student was encouraged to "be a positive player" by being kind and respectful. As students receive a "Most Valuable Player" card for their exceptional behavior, it is charted on a bulletin board.
For twelve weeks the students at East Street read across the continents in the “Amazing Reading Race.”
Ms. Li Liu joined the students at East Street for a special assembly celebrating the Chinese New Year.
Our third, fourth and fifth graders performed in the Winter Concert in January, and it was a huge success!
Engaging in physical activity everyday has a powerful and positive impact on your child's health now and in the future. Hicksville Public Schools' wellness program, Everybody. Everyday. aims to inspire students to be active everyday.
On Saturday, December 17th, ESL students and their families were invited to visit the Hicksville Public Library.
The East Street Student Council is collecting new hats, gloves, mittens, and scarves for families in the Hicksville community who are in need during the holiday season.
Mrs. Trocchia’s first graders enjoyed learning about apples in the fall. The culminating activity was making applesauce in our classroom.
East Street School's Annual Food Drive for Thanksgiving was held from October 13th through November 15th. The Student Council made posters to remind our staff and students how important their contributions of food items are for needy families in our community.
