The Hicksville High School National Honor Society added 120 members to its ranks in a ceremony steeped in tradition and symbolism that was held in the school auditorium. Middle School student Jerry Hsiao endured sixteen rounds of intense competition to earn the title of Scripps National Spelling Bee School Champion during the final qualifying event. Jerry correctly sequenced the spelling of ‘telepathic’ to secure the victory and is advancing to the regional final at Hofstra on March 18. Schoolmate Neelay Bose placed second and will serve as an alternate for the regional competition.
For the first time since 1979, the Hicksville High School boys varsity soccer team has secured the Conference AA, Nassau County Championship, the Long Island Championship, and the New York State Championship titles (Click for More)
Hicksville High School senior Yinwei (Charlie) Zhang has been named a Finalist in the 57th National Merit Scholarship Program and will compete in the spring for one of the National Merit Scholarships, which altogether total $34 million.

For many students at Hicksville Middle School, reading was a favorite pastime during the summer months. After the students settled into their daily routines, the Middle School reading staff provided summer readers with an opportunity to reflect on their book selections and utilize their creativity to profile their novels.
The College Board Recognizes 70 Hicksville High School Students as Advanced Placement Scholars
The College Board has recognized 70 Hicksville High School students with Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams. The AP Program provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while enrolled in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on AP Exams. Each exam is graded on a scale of 1 to 5, with 3 or higher considered a passing grade. (Click for More)
